How domain value is estimated
Here is the full method behind the free domain value checker, so you can judge the result for yourself.
The score-to-value ladder
| Score | Tier | Quick-sale value |
|---|---|---|
| 93–100 | Ultra | $250–$500 |
| 80–92 | Premium | $150–$199 |
| 65–79 | Good | $75–$99 |
| 50–64 | Qualifying | $20–$50 |
| 0–49 | Below our bar | Not resellable / below our bar |
1. The rubric
An AI appraiser scores the name from 0 to 100 for how readily it would resell to a founder or startup buyer. It looks at length and simplicity, brandability, keyword or commercial value (AI, SaaS, fintech, health, commerce and developer tools rank high), and extension strength (.com strongest; .io, .ai, .dev, .app and .co good for tech; most others weak).
2. Penalties
Hyphens, digits, tripled or awkward letters, trademark risk and unpronounceable strings lower the score sharply.
3. Calibration
The model is anchored to fixed reference names so the same name gets a similar score every time: 90–100 exceptional (rare), 80–89 strong premium, 65–79 good, 50–64 passable, 30–49 weak, 0–29 unsellable. Most hand-registered names land between 20 and 55.
4. The price ladder
The score maps to a fixed quick-sale range on our servers. The model never chooses the dollar amount.
5. Caching
Each result is stored, so the same name returns the same appraisal and every appraisal has a stable, shareable URL.

Frequently asked questions
What does the score measure?
How readily the name would resell to a founder or startup buyer. The AI scores length and simplicity, brandability, keyword or commercial value, and extension strength, and applies penalties for hyphens, digits, awkward spellings and trademark risk.
Why is the value lower than other appraisal sites?
We estimate quick-sale value: what a reseller would realistically pay for a fast sale. Retail appraisals estimate what a perfect end-buyer might pay someday, which is why they often look much higher.
Does the AI decide the price?
No. The AI only produces the score and the written breakdown. A fixed ladder on our servers converts the score into the value range.
